Edward Josefow
March 1, 1921 ~ July 13, 2016 (age 95) 95 Years OldEdward Josefow, 95, of Peoria, AZ a, former Torrington resident passed away Wednesday, July 13th. He was the husband of the late Josephine Cremasco Josefow
Born in Torrington, he served in the U.S. Army as a TEC 5 in WW II 65th Infantry Division and had served with the Civilian Conservation Corp in Colorado. He was retired from The Torrington Company and Howmet. He had also owned Torrington Go Carts with his brother Henry for years with carts that he had made. He was an amateur radio operator since 1955, W1JSU. He retired to Arizona and had served as a volunteer at West Side Food Bank in Peoria. He also enjoyed travel to Europe visiting family.
He is survived by sons Edward Josefow Jr of Colebrook and Dennis Josefow of Peoria, daughters Kathryn Josefow of Boise Idaho and Susan Baerny and husband Dennis of Harwinton and their children Lexie and Julie. Predeceased by a daughter Frances Irwin, he is survived by her children Mary Beth, Michael, Carolyn, Robin, and Joseph, as well as 7 great grandchildren. He was also predeceased by 4 siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 23rd at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Harwinton. Burial will follow at New St. Francis cemetery. Friends may call 6:00 -8:00 PM on Friday, July 22nd at Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave Torrington.
