David W Huften

 David W Huften, 68, of Torrington, CT, passed away  Sunday, May 22nd, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the husband of Iris Pollutro Huften.
David was born in Winsted, CT on March 20, 1948, a son of the late Doris (Sheldon)  and William  Huften. He served in the US Air Force and later the Air National Guard.
He retired from The State of Connecticut Department of Labor,  and kept busy after retirement in various jobs.  Active in the Community,  he was involved with Torrington Youth Soccer and Torrington Twisters.  He was a member and Past Exalted Ruler of Torrington Elks,  a member and Past Commander of Litchfield American Legion, member of Torrington Masonic Lodge,  and  Torringford Volunteer Fire Dept and Harwinton West Side Fire Dept.  He enjoyed Summers at Cape Cod and Prospect Mountain in MA.
In addition to his wife,  he leaves two sons,  Daniel Huften and wife Amanda and their children Zachary and Ryleigh,  and Timothy Huften and fiance Andrea Lecours and her daughter Quinn Lecours.  David is also survived by a sister Leona Huften and brother Ronald Huften.  He was predeceased by a sister Joyce Hawley.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 on Friday, May 27th at Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave. Torrington.  Friends may call Thursday from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
