Uncle John, my namesake, always had a big smile and a witty remark whenever we met. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to see John very often but I’ll always have fond memories of our visits to Torrington and his encyclopedic knowledge of the Slovaks and our family history.

John and Jennie were among the hardest working and most talented people I have known and worked with in my life. I knew them while I worked at The Torrington Company, Excelsior Plant , 1964 to 1979. John lived his life by his deeds, his talent and his goodwill. He showed a little temper once in a while but that was only because he wanted things to be right. I will never forget John or Jennie. My sincerest condolences go out to the family.
