Nancy Ann Petrosky ( Mankowich) entered into eternally rest on May 12th, 2016.  Nancy is survived by her two children Daniel Edward Petrosky and his wife Ioulia Julie Tzepos, Kristy-Lynn Petrosky, her sister, Cathy Pierce of Brea, California and her two nephews, Michael and Thomas Pierce.  She was pre-deceased by her parents, Adeline and Edward Mankowich.  Nancy  was born on August 20th, 1947 on Long Island and resided in Uniondale, Long island.  She attended Saint Cyril Academy in Danville, PA and then entered into the religious life in 1965 as Sister M. Adele.  She graduated from Cabrini College in Pennsylvania in 1971 with a degree in Education.  She left religious life in 1972 and entered into the nursing program at Molloy College graduating with a Bachelor of Nursing in 1975.  She worked as a nurse for 40 years.  Nancy began her working career at Winsted Memorial Hospital.  She then worked as a pediatric nurse, emergency room nurse and a hospice care coordinator until she retired in 2015.She was member of the Torrington Elks Lodge #372 and a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Litchfield, CT.  Nancy loved the company of her friends at the Elks and was a resource for many people.  Her love for helping people was without boundaries.  Often it was said she helped others more than herself.  Whether is  cooking for people, sharing a laugh or helping in a tough time Nancy was willing to help in any way she could.  She loved the ocean, lighthouses and vacationing in Rockport, MA.   Most important in her life where her two grandchildren Jason Spadola and Ermioni Petrosky.  Her life revolved around them.  She would often “Facetime” them and without question would end the conversation with this, “I love you more then you know.”   Her love for them knew no boundaries.    A special thank you from her family to all her friends who helped in her time of need. Callings hours will be at Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Avenue Torrington, CT on Thursday May 19th, 2016 from 5-7pm.  A Catholic Burial Mass will be held on Friday May 20th, 2016 at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Litchfield, CT at 10:00am.  A reception for friends and family will be held after the funeral mass at the Torrington Elks Lodge #372, in the Ballroom.      In lieu of flowers,  donations can be made to the Ermioni Petroky/ Jason Spadola Educational Savings account c/o Torrington Savings Bank 129 Main Street Torrington, CT.
