 Yvonne Adorno, 85, of Torrington, passed away Saturday, October 28th, at Rivers Edge of Avon, She was the wife of Joseph Marshall Adorno.

Yvonne was born in New Britain, CT on July 5, 1938, daughter of the late Victoria (Lawendowski)  and Theodore Janik.  A graduate of New Britain High and Northwestern Connecticut Community College, she was employed by the City of Torrington Department of Social services and served as Director for many years.
She was a member of the Torrington Republican Town Committee for many years and served on the campaign committee for Mayor Dee Donne, also serving on the Board of Directors for The Northwest Community Health Center,  and enjoyed summers at Mautucket By the Sea in Rhode Island.
In addition to her husband, she leaves four children, Joseph Adorno Jr and wife Julie and their children, Joseph, Michael, Jelani, and Callista; Debora Dlugokinski and husband Jan Michael and their children Karel and Jan Michael Jr ; Greg Adorno and wife Michelle and their son Cory James; and Cheri Rutz and husband Adam and their children Preston and Brianna.  Yvonne also leaves sisters Karen Slater and Doreen Thurz and husband David.  She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Samantha, and brother Theodore Janik and sister Marcia Lazauskas.

Funeral  Service will be held at 10:30 on Saturday, November 4th at Phalen Funeral Home in Torrington, Burial will follow at Saint Peter Cemetery.  Friends may call 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM on Saturday, November 4th at the Funeral Home.  Memorial Contributions can be made to Northwest Community Health Center 469 Migeon Ave Torrington CT 06790. online memorials www.phalenfuneral.com
