William C Pearson Sr.

 William C Pearson, Sr, 91, of Torrington, CT, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, February 14th.  He was the husband of the late Mary Gontkovic Pearson

William was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 26, 1931, a son of the late Margaret (Bell)  and Carl  Pearson.  He served as a Corporal in the US Army,  serving in Germany after the War.
He started his career at Overhead Door Co in 1954 and in 1979 he founded his company W. Pearson and Sons.  He was one of the organizers  of Torrington Soccer Club and Torrington Youth Soccer,  playing until age 50. He ran several Litchfield Road Races and enjoyed playing golf.  He was a member of St.Paul's Masonic Lodge #11 in Litchfield and a member of the Germania Club.
He leaves a son Kenneth Pearson and daughter Lisa Pearson,  9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren,  and daughters in law Cheryl Pearson and Patricia Pearson,  as well as a cousin, Joan Bailey.  He was predeceased by sons William Jr and Edward.
Friends may call Tuesday Feb.21 from 5-7 PM at Phalen Funeral Home.  Graveside Services will be Wednesday 11 AM at West Cemetery in Litchfield.  Memorial Contributions can be made to Torrington Youth Soccer.
