It is with deep sadness that the family of Virginia (Ginger) Peasley announce her passing on March 21, 2021. Ginger was born in Pineville, Kentucky on April 25, 1943 to William Hopkins and Nancy Patterson and grew up in Kentucky and Indiana. She served as a nurse in the U.S. Naval Hospital Corps from 1961-1964 in St. Albans, New York. Ginger's greatest contributions in life were as a dedicated and loving wife to her husband, David; mother to children Danielle Perez and Michael Peasley; mother-in-law to Kara Peasley; grandmother to Lincoln Peasley; and sister-in-law to Ronald and Mary Ellen Peasley, all of whom survive her. She is also survived by two sisters, Deborah Patten and Judith Schiebler, who reside in Indiana. Ginger was known in the community for her strong faith as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. In lieu of flowers, the family asks those wishing to express sympathy to consider donating to Salisbury Visiting Nurse Association, Brandywine Living and Sharon Hospital, which provided great assistance and comfort to Ginger and David in her final months. Private services will be held for immediate family only at Phalen Funeral Home, 258 Migeon Ave., Torrington.
