Umberto (Albert) Persechino passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on January 21, 2021 at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT. Umberto was born in Sant’Apollinare, Italy on October 29, 1934 to the late Antonio and Angelina Persechino. He is predeceased by his 3 brothers, Fiorello, Diamante and Peter and 2 sisters, Lilia and Guerina and he has a surviving sister, Atilia LaMonica. Albert leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Albert lived in Torrington, CT for 71 years and worked at Union Hardware, Sietz Corporation, and Torin Corporation until he finally retired from the Torrington Company. After his “so-called” retirement, Albert helped at a family business, Jimmy’s Store. Throughout his life Albert touched those who had the pleasure of meeting him. Although friendships were important to him, Albert’s true loves were his wife of 60 years, Connie Persechino, who selflessly cared for him his whole life. He is survived by his 3 children; his son Robert Persechino and his wife Laurie of New Hartford, CT, his daughter Diane Persechino-Lanese and her husband Michael Lanese of Waterbury, CT and his daughter Janet Persechino of Boston, MA. But nothing could compare to the love he had for his 5 grandchildren, Jamieson Reynolds, Andrea Persechino, Robert Persechino, Ryan Persechino and Christopher Persechino. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye.
