Thomas J Delekta

Thomas John Delekta of Torrington. The Man. The Myth. The Legend. Tom passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 8th surrounded by family after a brief battle with cancer. Tom was born on June 30th, 1954. He grew up on the Delekta Family Farm in Bristol, CT. He was an avid outdoorsman and a compassionate, loving father. In 1964, Tom started working at the Family Business Fall Mountain Sports and continued up until 2010. Tom then worked for the CT DEEP from 2010-2020 as a carpenter towards the end of his tenure. Tom is predeceased by his parents Walter Delekta and Helen Delekta (Bator) and his son Matt Delekta. He is survived by his wife Lisa Delekta(Cersoli) of Torrington, CT, his daughter Jessica Peterson and husband Kyle of Plymouth, CT, his son Josh Delekta of Hartford, CT, his granddaughters Dakota and Dehlia Peterson, his sister Pat Delekta of Bristol, CT, his brother Ray Delekta of Milford, MA, his sister Joan Dowling of South Windsor, CT and numbers cousins, nieces, and nephews. A service will be held at Phalen Funeral Home Friday, November 13th from 5:00pm – 7:00pm in Torrington.  www.phalenfuneral.com
