Suzanne J Kish

Suzanne J. Kish, 77, passed away peacefully at her home Jan. 6, 2020.  She was the beloved partner of Raymond J. Gallo for 48 years.                                    

Suzanne was born July 28, 1942 in Torrington, 'daughter of the late Louis and Susie (Sikora) Kish. She was a graduate of Torrington High School. Her first job was with G.C. Murphy in downtown Torrington; she later worked in the Credit Department for Ingersoll Rand/Timken Company until her retirement.

Suzanne was an excellent cook, cooking-up delicious meals and desserts including her famous Christmas Nut Roll 'Kolache'.

Suzanne became a avid hiker; hiking along the Appalachian Trail, Mt Washington and several other peaks in the White Mountains of NH, Mt Katahdin Maine and Mt Greylock MA. She even took up xcross country skiing and loved traveling with her sisters to the casino.

In addition to her partner Ray, she leaves brother John Kish and wife Cynthia of Lexington S.C.; brother Stephen Kish of Torrington; sister Marilyn Winters and husband Al of Torrington; brother in- law Daniel DeFrancisco of Torrington; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Barbara Nigrelli and Sandra DeFrancisco.

She will also be missed by Ray's family; his brothers and sister, nieces and nephews. Aunt Suzanne was always included in family picnics, weddings, graduations and birthdays.

Funeral services will be Friday Jan. 10,  11 AM at Phalen Funeral Home, 285 Migeon Ave. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call before the service from 10-11 AM.

Ray and Suzanne's family would like to thank Dr. Brandt and the staff at the Smillow Cancer Center; the Visiting Nurses and Aids of the Hartford Health Care at Home for their tender loving care.
