Stuart Gero Obituary

Stuart “Stu” Gero
Stuart O .Gero, passed away May 20, 2024 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital after his 82nd birthday bidding his family “laconsidicocktamage” (which to his loved ones means “time to go” ). He was
predeceased by his bride of 54 years Anderia “Pinky” Gero in 2017. He was born May 19, 1942, to George and Arlene Gero, in St Albans Vt. The family moved to Torrington
when he was 7 years old. He attended Torrington Public Schools. He worked for the State of Ct Department of Transportation for 35 years, in the time following he started a chimney cleaning business. Shortly after that Stuart worked for Wilson Dodge for 7 years after which he retired from all employment.
Stu and Pinky loved to travel to Misquamicut and Vermont yearly. He loved going to the casino and having get togethers whether they were planned or impromptu. He especially loved getting the family together for galettes and having his “first one today” Dad loved his kids and would do anything for them. He loved when the family was together and would sit around and sing, or listen to songs that were special to him. His garage was the place to have a party, with his wall of antique tools and good stories about them. If you heard someone whistling a tune you knew Stu was around. He loved singing the songs “Lady and Those Were the Days My Friend”. He truly loved his neighbors, always willing to lend a hand with either snow blowing, gutter cleaning or chopping wood. He literally gave his new coat off his back to a man in need.
He is survived by his son Stuart Gero (Glen LaFountain) daughter Colleen Hall (John Hall), His brother Bill Gero (Sharon). He is also survived by his grandchildren Kyle Gero (Amanda), Bryan Gero (Brooke) Jeff Hall, and Aundraya Pratt (Brian). His great- grandchildren Oliver and Lexi Gero and Wyatt Pratt. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his sister Martha White and great grandson Mason
Gero. The family would like to thank Janice, Jessica, Michele and Lisa for always showing him kindness and compassion during his stay at home.
