"Uncle Steve"

Stephen M Kittle, 78 of Torrington CT passed away peacefully on April 12, 2019. He was born On July 23, 1940 in Torrington CT. son of the late Edward Joseph Kittle and Mary Francis (Scanlon) Kittle. He is survived by his sister Julia Kittle Ortiz and predeceased by his sister Margaret Kittle Keywan.

Steve was a US Navy veteran mastering in radio telecommunications. He enjoyed attending his annual naval reunions held in various cities nationwide.

Steve worked and lived in New York City for over 35 years employed by Southern Bell later known as Verizon. But Steve would always return on weekends to his childhood home in Torrington .

After retirement Steve settled back to Torrington. He loved spending with his family, friends and neighbors. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, discussing politics and having tea and coffee with friends. He loved his precious dogs Abbey and Max and spent numerous hours relaxing on his front porch. He will be mostly remembered as being kind, considerate and always willing to help those he loved.

Steve will be missed by his nieces and nephew Kathleen K Renzullo, Rosemary K Cockburn, Mary Jo Everett, Julieanne Keator, Margaret Dyrness-Mather, Brian Keywan and his dear friend Marie Matava.

There will be a celebration of life on April 17, 2019 at St Francis Church in Torrington. Burial to follow at St Francis Cemetery. There are no calling hours.  www.phalenfuneral.com
