Scott James White (Pip), age 52, passed away suddenly on Friday, October 11, 2024. Born on December 1, 1971 in Keighley England, he was the son of the late Patricia and Clifford White.
Scott was a member of the Germania Singing Society and the Catholic Slovak Club, where he often entertained and impressed his friends with his quick wit and arcane knowledge. Scott had recently begun working at the Torrington Tax Collector’s Office, a nightmare job for most, but his idea of a dream job.
His weekly visits with Heather Roseman, a dear friend, were cherished by Scott, and became more meaningful once she learned to decipher his British accent. Among Scott’s other treasured memories was his five-day, three-country European trip with Jen and Dallas MacDonald. Scott’s greatest joy was loving and mentoring Marlo Jenkins, the grandson of his beloved partner, Meghan Oneglia Schmitt, who will also miss Scott’s presence in Marlo’s life. Scott’s endearing practice of placing a Rolo on Meghan’s pillow each night will be a lasting memory.
In addition to Meghan and Marlo, Scott is also survived by his dear sister, Charlotte White Docherty and husband Andy, and his nephew Adam of Cullingworth, England.
Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. on November 1 at Phalen Funeral Home, 285 Migeon Avenue, Torrington, CT.
