Samuel R Connor IV

It is with great sadness that the family of Samuel Robert Connor lV announces his passing on Friday, November 10, 2023 at his home in Winsted CT. He died peacefully surrounded by friends and family.

Sam was born on November 17,1962 in Scotch Plains, New Jersey.  He was raised at Ferncliff Manor in Yonkers NY from 1962-1979 and Migeon Hall Group Home in Torrington CT from 1979-1990. He lived in several apartments in the Torrington area for the next 30 years. His final home was a small group home in Winsted CT with Community Systems, Inc. He was predeceased by his parents Samuel and Ursula Connor of Essex CT. Sam is survived by his brother Thomas Connor (Kathleen) of Greenwich CT and his sister Eve Connor Perni (Andy) of Naples Florida, his nieces and nephews, Thomas Connor Jr. (Callan) Caroline Connor McNally, (Brendan) Drew Perni and Nick Perni and grandniece Willa Elizabeth Connor.

Sam had many jobs working for Parks and Recreation in Torrington and the March of Dimes Organization.

He was a loving man who enjoyed swimming, dancing, cooking, shooting hoops and joking around with family and friends. He gave the best hugs.  He loved attending summer camps where he could enjoy the outdoors and ride horses. He was an exceptional housemate where he excelled at keeping the house clean and cleaning dishes after mealtime.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 295 Alvord Park Road in Torrington on Monday December 4, 2023 at 2:00 PM.
