Samuel John Bartholomew, age 90 closed his eyes on July18, 2024, at home. Sam was a kind, softspoken man of Christian faith who was devoted to his family.

Sam retired to life as a gentleman farmer, loving husband, and giving father after a 36-year Engineering career with the City of White Plains. Sam rose to the position of Commissioner of Public Works and was responsible for many of the City’s major projects. Sam graduated from the University of Connecticut, where he met his future wife Audrey, earning BA degrees in Agricultural and Civil Engineering. Sam strove to do good deeds and God’s work on Earth, by lifting up those around him and leading by example through his volunteer work for the Rotary Club in LaGrange and White Plains. Sam was a member of the Ridgeway Alliance Church, and volunteered at the Saw Mill Kennel Club, Tymor Equestrian Center, and the White Plains Fire Department.
Sam will be missed by his family, who greatly benefitted from his gentle wisdom and faith. His sons-in-law thank him for his generous assistance in all matters plumbing and electrical.
