Ronald Louis Formaggioni Sr

Ronald L Formaggioni Sr., 86, oi Torrington , passed away Feb. 21, 2025 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the husband of 52 years of the late Virginia Allen Formaggioni, who died in 2016. Born in Torrington April 6, 1938, son of the late Giacomo and Ida (Celadon) Formaggioni, he was a retired machinist from the Torrington Company.  A self-taught wood carver, winning many awards for his craftsmanship. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a UCONN Women's basketball fan as well as a Red Sox fan, and was a life member of The Veneta Society.

He is survived by his son Ronald L. Formaggioni Jr, and daughters Lori Holt and Lynn Hunter, all of Torrington. He also leaves grandchildren Eric Rafferty, Ryan Hall, and Colin Hunter, 5 great-grandchildren, and a sister Blanche Zubrowski.  He was predeceased by a grandson Christopher Rafferty, brothers Albino, Siro, and Rudolph Formaggioni, and sisters Zita Zajac and Alma Vaill.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday Feb. 26 at 11 AM at Phalen Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call prior to the service from 9-11 AM.  www.phalenfuneral.com
