Roland "Toby" Tofield Jr.

Roland H (Toby) Tofield Jr of Torrington passed away 8/28/2023. Toby was born in Torrington on March 22, 1944, son of the late Roland and Bernice (Dougal) Tofield. He attended Torrington schools, graduating from Torrington High School. He was a long-time employee of O&G Industries as a driver and a member of Teamsters Local #677.
He had many interests and hobbies, he was an avid antique car enthusiast, a fan of UConn Women’s basketball, was addicted to The Young and the Restless, and loved spending time with friends and family.
A lifelong resident of Torrington, Toby was well known throughout the community. Quick whitted and always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need, Toby cemented a place in the hearts of everyone who was lucky enough to cross his path.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son Christopher Tofield of Las Vegas, daughters Victoria Tofield (Mike Randazzo) of Morris, and Kristina Bernardi (Justin) of Bethlehem, 4 grandchildren whom he adored, Hunter and Forrest Bernardi and Sophia and Sebastian Randazzo, his ex-wife Robin Tofield (Chris Hardisty) of Bethlehem, and brother Terry Tofield of Torrington. Besides his parents, Toby was predeceased by his first wife Patricia (Hallock) Tofield.
The family would like to thank Katie Cardone and Patty Cheney for their kindness, support and most importantly friendship. There will be no calling hours and burial is private. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
