Robert Gubbiotti

Robert “Bob” Gubbiotti, 76, passed away peacefully with family on February 6, 2026. Born on August 14, 1949, in Waterbury, CT, Bob lived a life marked by dedication to his family, a lifelong passion for learning, and a deep appreciation for life’s simple joys.

Bob graduated from Wilby High School and went on to pursue his education at Southern Connecticut State University before attending the Connecticut Technical Institute. He enjoyed a successful professional career, holding meaningful roles at The Hartford and later at ESPN, where he was known for his integrity and a tireless work ethic.

Family was the cornerstone of Bob’s life. He was a devoted father to Michael Gubbiotti, Laura Carreon, and Kate Rockefeller, and a caring stepfather to Lauren and Steven Abric. He cherished  moments spent with his children, and one of his greatest joys was becoming a “Papa” to 8 beautiful grandchildren and sharing the Italian family traditions he held close.

Bob had a deep love for history and enjoyed traveling to new places or engaging in conversation over a family meal. He was a dedicated volunteer giving his time to weekly blood drives, reading to school children in literacy programs, volunteering at his church, and contributing to many charities. Bob is remembered fondly by his brothers, Richard (Cindy) and Mark (Jean) Gubbiotti, many nieces and nephews, as well as many life long friends. After the passing of his wife, Karen, Bob found partnership and love again with Dorothy Henneberry, sharing many memories in her company. 

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Karen Gubbiotti; brother Alex (Nancy) Gubbiotti; and parents, Alex and Dena Gubbiotti.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary, 78 Litchfield Rd., Harwinton, CT.
