Robert William Davis

Robert William Davis, 73, of Winchester, CT passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 28th surrounded by his loving family.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of over 50 years, Brenda Reynaud Davis.

Robert was born in Stamford, CT on September 11, 1948, a son of the late Clarissa (Waring) and Roy E Davis. He was also known as Buzzy or Bobby. He was a proud U.S. Marine and served 18 months in Vietnam as a combat engineer. He worked for Metro North Railroad in Stamford before moving to Winchester to work for his father-in-law, Tony Reynaud at A&B Amusements where he worked as manager and projectionist at the Warner Theatre and Parkade Cinema. Bobby also had his own ceramic tile business for many years. In 1993, Bobby and his wife Brenda opened three Video World Superstores in Waterbury, Watertown and Canaan.

Bobby played on many softball teams in Torrington and Winsted, but his favorite was Pond Hill. He made many friends from that team and remained good friends with most of them for over 40 years.  During his retirement years, he spent most of his time golfing at Wyantenuck Country Club with his son, his grandson, his good friend Mark Douglass and many other devoted lifelong friends whom he loved dearly. He spent most of his time at the 19th hole playing 31. Bobby also loved traveling to Las Vegas, playing Keno and drinking wine with his buddy Bill Reilly. Bobby had a great sense of humor and was always the life of the party.

In addition to his wife, he leaves a son Bob Davis and his wife Nancy, and his two grandchildren, Michael and Katelyn Davis, who were the light of his life.  He is also survived by his siblings, a brother, Richard Davis, and sisters Patricia Franco and husband Paul, Elizabeth Fuda and husband Rich, Barbara Lyons and husband George, Marion Clayburn and husband Dennis, Cathy Lynch, Peggy Gautrau, and Susan Hunter. He was predeceased by brothers Roy Davis Jr and Nelson Davis and sister June Mone. Bobby had a huge extended family and was loved and will be missed by all.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 1st at Phalen Funeral Home in Torrington, with burial following at Winchester Center Cemetery.
