Rhonda Ann (Weingart) Cote, 62, of Torrington, CT, passed away Thursday, May 12th, at home after a long battle with cancer.
Rhonda was born in Torrington, on November 20, 1959, the daughter of the late Patricia (Woolford) Weingart. She leaves behind her father Ronald Weingart and his wife Sharon of Torrington.
She is a graduate of Torrington High School, class of 1977. She was a receptionist at O&G Industries in Torrington for nearly 30 years and worked as a bartender at Torrington Elks Lodge for many years.
She had a love of sports and played softball and volleyball in various Torrington leagues over the years and was a lifelong New York Jets fan. Rhonda loved her trips to St Maarten and the casino.
In addition to her father and his wife, she leaves behind her son Marc Cote and daughter Cheri Cote of Torrington, brothers James Weingart and wife Jean of Torrington, and Jay Weingart and wife Kim of East Hartford. She also leaves behind nieces Amy Raiche, Patty Van Laar, and Stefanie White, as well as nephew Kevin Steward and dear friends Debbie Vincent and Linda Carlson Burke. Rhonda also leaves behind her "fur grand-dog" Domino who never left her side as well as many family and friends.
The family extends deepest appreciation to the staff at Smilow Cancer Center for their care throughout the years as well as, O&G Industries for the endless support and love.
Friends may call Tuesday May 17 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave. in Torrington. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday at 11:30 at Hillside Cemetery.
