Raymond Hoysradt

Raymond Hoysradt, 97, formerly of Torrington died Sept 29, 2023, in Boynton Beach Fl.  He was the husband of 57 years of the late Lillian Ryan Hoysradt.  Born March 3, 1926, in Torrington, son of the late William Hoysradt Sr and Julia Sullivan Hoysradt, he served in The US Marine Corps as a Corporal during WWII.  He was a firefighter for the Torrington Fire Department for 30 years, retiring in 1980.  He played baseball and basketball for Torrington High and was part of the 44 Club State Tournament.  An avid golfer, he was a long-time member of Greenwoods Country Club and was a member of Torrington Lodge of Elks.  He was predeceased by brothers John Hoysradt and former Fire Chief William Hoysradt Sr., and a sister Lauretta Kemezis.  He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday Oct 4th at 11 AM at Saint Francis Church in Torrington, with burial following at New Saint Francis Cemetery.  Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 Wednesday at Phalen Funeral Home.  www.phalenfuneral.com
