Phyllis (McCarthy) Gozemba

Phyllis Gozemba, 92, passed away peacefully at home on January 31, 2024.  She was the wife of the late William Gozemba.  She was born in Vernon CT. April 26, 1931, daughter of the late James and Mary (Kramer) McCarthy.  She worked at Bradlees in Torrington for many years, retiring when the store closed in 1993.  Phyllis enjoyed traveling and going to the casino.

She is survived by her sons John and wife Susan of Colebrook with whom she had lived, and Donald of Broadbrook,CT.  six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.  She also leaves a sister-in-law Helen Gozemba, several nieces and nephews, and a special friend Mark Reznick.  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son Jeffrey. daughter-in-law Mary, two sisters, and a brother.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday Feb 3 at 10 AM at Phalen Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery.  Friends may call before the service from 9-10 AM.  Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital
