Peter Robustelli

Peter Robustelli, 68, of Torrington, Connecticut passed away unexpectedly at Hartford Hospital on Friday, November 18, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. 

Peter was a long time resident of Torrington and employed with the Register Citizen for more than 30 years. During this time he met his lifelong companion, Andrea Benedict, also of Torrington. Together they shared over 30 years of love, laughter and memories while raising their two beautiful children. 

Peter was predeceased by his father, Peter Robustelli and his mother Ann Robustelli both of Torrington and nephew Dennis Borovy of Bristol. He is survived by his sister Susan Strait and brother-in-law William Strait Jr., of Bloomfield, Connecticut, as well as his sister Carol Buice and husband Billy Buice of Torrington. Peter will be dearly missed by his step son, Micheal Benedict and wife Erin Benedict of Torrington, and his step daughter Michelle Finn and former husband, Guy Finn also of Torrington. In addition, Peter had five grandchildren who thought the world of him. Patrick and Brayden Finn, and Greyson, Harper and Sawyer Benedict will miss their “Baba” who deeply influenced their childhood. Peter was the most loving and down to earth soul who cared for everyone around him. He selflessly offered his love, advice and wisdom to all those who needed, or asked for it. Peter had many close family members who cared deeply for him and will be impacted by his absence including: Mary Beth and David Lach, Robbie and Christopher Goulet, nieces Dawn Lascari and Denise McCarthy, and nephew Henry Borovy. 

In lieu of a traditional service, per Peter’s wishes, there will be a private family gathering to celebrate his life. In his memory, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Hospital.
