Patsy Capuano Obituary

Patsy Jean (Kelley) Capuano passed away after a short illness on the morning of January 13th, 2022. She was born August 29th, 1943, in Riverside, CA, the daughter of Donald and Mary Evelyn Kelley. Patsy grew up in Kansas, where she met her loving husband of 54 years, Robert Capuano, after which they built their lives in Northwest Connecticut.

Patsy enjoyed not only the joy and love she brought to her family’s lives, but also her many activities in the community. Patsy was not only a Justice of the Peace for many years, she was a 10th degree Grandmaster Black Belt who taught karate at the Hamzy School for almost 40 years. Patsy was also proud of her involvement in various capacities with the PTA, Torrington Youth Soccer, numerous bowling leagues, and many other activities revolving around her family, faith, and community. Patsy was always known as a person you could count on to roll up her sleeves and take on responsibility for any project she was involved in, especially if it was for the children of our community.

Patsy is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert, and the families of her son Joseph and partner Amanda, son Don and wife Malati, and grandchildren Robert, Desiree, Ariana, and Joseph. She is also survived by brother Michael and a large extended family, and predeceased by brothers Tom and Donald.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Patsy’s family encourages sharing memories, photos, and condolences at www.phalenfuneral.com
