Noreen Propfe, 82, of Torrington, went into the hands of her loving Father on Tuesday, October 10,2023, while at home with her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Catherine (Foley) Flanigan. Noreen was born on February 11, 1941, in Hartford Connecticut. After growing up in Hartford she moved to Unionville, CT with her family, and graduated from Farmington High School. She met the love of her life, the late Claus Propfe and in beginning of 1962, they shared a loving faith-filled marriage of 58 years. Noreen raised her family in Torrington and was beloved in all the places and ways she lived her life. She worked in healthcare most of her life, first as a home health aide working for The Brooker Memorial then working for Charlotte Hungerford Hospital as an EEG/EKG technician for over 25 years. She was a faithful member of St Francis of Assisi Church and St. John Paul the Great Parish where she served in many capacities throughout her adult life. She was a long-time member of the Pink and Blue Club, a group purposed to serve the needs of disadvantaged children. It was in serving, both in the
church and service organizations, that she found her most enduring friendships, enriching her life for many years. She loved to travel with her husband and her friends. Together, Noreen and Claus loved the beauty of New England that is found in the northwest corner of Connecticut while enjoying leisurely drives in their Corvette. She loved her grandchildren well, being present with love and pride in all their life experiences.
