Noreen Kausyla Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Noreen Spuck Kausyla of Litchfield, CT, at the age of 69, on November 23, 2024, after a long illness.  She was surrounded by her loving family.

Noreen, fondly called Rene, was born on April 23,1955, to Eli and Margaret Spuck.  She spent her early years in Norwalk, CT.  After Noreen graduated from Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua, NY, she went on to study at Endicott Junior College in Beverly, MA and then attended Berkeley College in White Plains, NY, graduating with a Business Secretarial Degree.

After college graduation, she worked for 43 years as the Assistant to the Headmaster at The Forman School in Litchfield, CT.

Noreen met and married her husband, Edward Kausyla.  They resided in Litchfield, CT and in 1993, welcomed their son, William, the light of their lives.

Noreen was loved and cherished by many.  She tirelessly dedicated herself to her family and her career.  She was spontaneously humorous and known for her kind, loving, and generous manner.  Noreen had a big heart, and a huge affection for animals as well as a compassion for nature.  She enjoyed gardening and baking.  Vacationing at the beaches in Rhode Island and Cape Cod, MA were her favorite past times.

Noreen lived her life to the fullest and especially loved spending time with her family.

While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing that she no longer suffers.  She will live in our hearts forever.

Noreen was predeceased by her parents Eli and Margaret Spuck and her sister Laura Spuck.  She is survived by her husband, Edward Kausyla; her son, William Kausyla; three sisters, Michelle Spuck, Barbara Keane and husband Chris, and Allison Wesolowski and husband Robert; two nieces, Lindsay Baker and Alyssa Brown (Zack); two nephews, Michael Keane and Christopher Keane; and great nieces and nephews, Piper, Peyton, Cole, and Sawyer.

Private family memorial services will be held at Saint Anthony Church.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Noreen’s name.
