Obituary

Mildred A. “Millie” Mastrocola Robustelli

Millie passed away on March 18, 2023, at the Torrington Towers.  Born on May 31, 1932, in Queens, NY, to Italian immigrants Salvatore and Carmela Anzellotti Mastrocola, Millie lived in Ozone Park until she was about eight years old.   She and her mother then moved to Torrington, CT, at the urging of her mother’s brother, Rocco Anzellotti, and she lived there her entire life.  She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Millie attended North School and graduated from Torrington High School in 1950.  Her very first job was as a candy girl at the State Theater on Main St.  She later worked for the Radlers at “Lady Lee” in the Allen Building.  In 1953, she married Denis Frauenhofer, and they had four children.   Millie worked for many local businesses over the years:  Sears, Star’s, Good Guys Appliances, Norman’s Appliance Center, The Good Life, Seitz.  In later years, she was employed by Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, first in the x-ray department and, later, in admitting.  After retirement, she continued to volunteer there for several years.  In 1982, she married Peter Robustelli. An avid bowler, Millie was a member of the E-Z Mixers team at SkyTop Lanes for many years.   She also loved to cook and to knit, making countless beanies for the newborns at CHH.  However, she always said that her most important job was being a mother.  She was predeceased in 2021 by her brother, Navy Veteran John Mastrocola.

Millie is survived by her children, Denis Frauenhofer, Jr., and his children Ella Rubino and Sofia Frauenhofer; Ann Frauenhofer; Dona Frauenhofer, and her children Ryan Kaminski-Killiany, and wife Kara, and Maria McDonough; and Terese Hoysradt, her husband Bill, and their children William Hoysradt and Shawna Boyd, and her husband Jayce.  Millie is also survived by four great-grandchildren:  Nora Kaminski-Killiany, Milo Kaminski-Killiany, Arya Grace McDonough, and Evan Boyd; as well as her brother’s children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and several cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday March 25 at 11:30 AM at Saint Francis Church.  Burial will follow at New Saint Francis Cemetery.  online memorials www.phalenfuneral.com
