OBITUARY
MARY C. WEINGART
July 6, 1922 – March 21, 2024
Mary C. Weingart, 101, passed away peacefully in the evening of March 21, 2024, at Valerie Manor in Torrington. She was predeceased by her husband and love of her life, Albert H. Weingart.
Mary was born on July 6, 1922, in Torrington, CT, daughter of the late Felix and Julia (Abramowicz) Burakowski. Hard work, courage, and determination were the foundation of her being. Mary worked at the Torrington Company Needle Division and retired from Pitney Bowes. True to her Polish roots, she was a faithful communicant of St. Mary’s Church. She assisted with the PNA Lodge 1061 dance troupe for years, making and maintaining costumes and chaperoning many events. As leader of the Bakerville 4-H Ready Whippers Club, she taught young girls nutrition and kitchen skills. She loved cooking and baking, especially during the holidays, and created beautiful wedding cakes. Decorating Easter eggs was her passion. She taught, displayed, and often shared her works of art.
She is survived by her daughters, Noreen Reuber and her husband Michael of Harwinton, and Lorraine Davidson of Eganville, Ontario, Canada, devoted granddaughters, Marisa Reuber of Gaithersburg, MD, and Paige Reuber of Washington, DC, and dear nieces, nephews, and neighbors. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Albert H. Weingart, Jr. and son-in-law, William Davidson. She was the last remaining sibling of her family, predeceased by 3 sisters: Helen Berglewicz, Jennie Burakowski, and Frances Weingart and 3 brothers: Edward, Joseph, and KasmirBurakowski.
A graveside service was held at New St. Francis Cemetery in Torrington.
