Mary Lovallo Obituary

On August 12, 2021, the Lovallo-DiGennaro family lost our matriarch, Mary Elizabeth Lovallo. She was born in New Haven, CT on June 6, 1929 from the late Charles and Elizabeth Holmes, but spent the majority of her life in Torrington, CT. Mary was a devout Catholic. She attended St. Mary’s High School in New Haven, and St. Joseph’s College in West Hartford, where she studied psychology. Throughout her life, she attended Mass every Sunday. She had a love of art, and loved to draw. She was passionate about animals and donated monthly to animal welfare causes. She was most known for her kindness, and for her unconditional love for her family and friends. She regularly cooked meals for her friends and neighbors, and wholeheartedly cared for them in every way. She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent Lovallo, and her son, Leonard Lovallo. She is survived by her daughter, Marylee (Lovallo) DiGennaro & son-in-law Gennaro, as well as her daughter-in-law Patricia (Casey) Lovallo. In addition she is survived by her five grandchildren: Alessia (DiGennaro) Kerner & David; Erin Lovallo & Dishone Hunt; Damian DiGennaro & Jenna DeLuca; Raina (Lovallo) Plotica & John; and Michael Lovallo; and her ten great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Peter Church, 107 E Main St. Torrington at 10:00 am on August 21, 2021. Burial will follow in the Saint Peter Christian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA or the Amity Charitable Trust: DiGennaro-Lovallo Fund, P.O. Box 8626, New Haven, CT 06531.
