Maron Jacob Obituary

Maron George Francis Jacob “Is Dead”.
It was Maron’s wish his obituary started this way. He passed away Friday, February 28th, at Hartford Hospital surrounded by his loving family.  Maron survived the love of his life Susan Riley Jacob who died in 2009, they were a match made in heaven, and they will be reunited once again.
Maron was born in Torrington on September 8, 1936, a son of the late Josephine (Ferris) and George Jacob.  Maron was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Maron was a charismatic man that loved life, whether it was playing baseball as a young man, working, or playing cards. He served his Country in the U.S. Marines for two years prior to being a local business man. Maron owned and operated several local businesses with his loving wife Sue including Jacob's Store, Jacob's Fruit Stand, Value Mart, and Jacob Bail Bonds.
Maron is survived by his loving daughters, their husbands, numerous grandchildren and several great grandchildren. His daughters and their husbands are Susan Gozemba and John of Colebrook, Annesa Sullivan and Richard of Colebrook, Jacqueline Albreada and Donald of Litchfield, and Kati Maiolo and Andy of Torrington, daughter-in-law Melodie Jacob
of Torrington, and longtime companion Carol Waite of Torrington. Maron is also survived his siblings Annesa Borla, Rosemary Jacob, George Jacob and his wife Karen, John Jacob and his wife Beth, as well as several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his son Robert Jacob and sister Margaret Vinisko.

The Divine Liturgy of the Resurrection will be celebrated 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 4th at Saint Maron Church in Torrington, Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Friends may call  4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Tuesday, March 3rd at Phalen Funeral Home in Torrington, CT.
Memorial Contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
