Marilyn June Tucker aged 91 passed away peacefully with family on March 13, 2026. She was born on February 2nd ,1935 in Torrington CT, to the late Daniel and Bertha Zavatkay. Marilyn was preceded in death by her loving husband Carl Tucker
Marilyn lived and worked in Torrington her whole life. She was employed by the Torrington Company where she was a dedicated employee and finished her career as an integral part of the company’s learning center. Marilyn was always active in her youth, spending time playing sports, roller skating, riding horses and spending time at various lakes during the summer.
Marilyn enjoyed taking care of her family and loved to entertain various friends and relatives at her home. She would always have “something” on the stove to “pick on”, whether it would be watching sports by the fire in the winter or relaxing by the pool in the summer. Marilyn always looked forward to her annual summer vacations with family and friends at Old Saybrook and Marthas Vineyard.
She is survived by her son James and his wife Deborah Tucker, Grandchildren Tyler Tucker, Caitlin Tucker and her fiancé Blake Harris, Allen Tucker, Corey Tucker and his partner Courtney Allen and Great Grandson Colton Tucker, Daughter in law Kathy Tucker as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Marilyn was predeceased by her sons Carl and Gregory, sisters Lilian Schulack, Betty Gotti, brother Robert Zavatkay, grandson Justin Tucker and a daughter in law Arlene Tucker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday March 19 th at 1 PM at St. Francis Church in Torrington CT. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Phalen Funeral Home www.phalenfuneral.com
