Marilyn J (Morrison) Reznick

Marilyn J Reznick, 89, of Torrington passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024 at her home.  She was the wife of the late Paul Reznick. Born in Torrington, January 10, 1935, she was the daughter of Ernest and Beatrice Halsted Morrison. She had been employed by The Torrington Register, WW Mertz, Caldor, and later by ShopRite.  She was an avid reader and loved to sit outside, watching the world go by and reading. She also loved watching TV, usually the Game Show Network, The Price Is Right, Jeopardy, Wheel Of Fortune and her soap opera. She always said she would be lost without her TV. She loved the beach at Stanclift Cove in Barkhamsted, both with her daughter when she was young and later on with friends she had made there. She also used to love to ride her bike around the neighborhood with her good friend, Pat. 

She is survived by her daughter, Anne Canfield and husband Jerry, and a brother, Richard Morrison and wife Sandy of New Hartford, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their immense appreciation to Charter Oak Home Care. Mom would not have been able to stay in her house without the caregivers. Alexis, Aubrey, Cate, Claudette, Gloria, Heather and Shermaine, you took such great care of mom. She enjoyed your company and we know you all truly cared for her and loved her. You made our small family feel a little bigger.  And to all the caregivers that filled in at times, we thank you too from the bottom of our hearts. 

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 11 AM at Saint Francis Church, with burial following at new Saint Francis Cemetery.  Friends may call Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Phalen Funeral Home. www.phalenfuneral.com
