Marie-Rose Milanese Obituary

Marie-Rose Milanese, 92, of Winsted, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020, from complications due to Covid 19. She was the wife of the late Charles Milanese, Second World War Army Veteran. Rose was born in LaFontaine, Ontario, Canada on February 18, 1928 to the late Alcime and Phomene Chretien.

Rose grew up and was raised in Canada where her family were avid fishermen. Hence, she grew to not like eating any kind of fish. She married the late, Gabriel Moreau and raised her family on a huge farm in Penetanquishene, Ontario, Canada. She assisted with the hard work of caring to their cows, chickens and over 1000 turkeys in addition to raising her five children at the time. Moving to the states in 1954, she settled down on a farm in Norfolk, CT. She had three additional children while living in CT where she has remained. Rose worked in the hosiery Dept at Whiting Mills, served as an EMT with the Winsted Ambulance, and has had many previous different occupations, retiring in 1990. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, sewing and most recently playing games on her i-pad. But, her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. She loved watching and playing with her youngest family members, Derek Johnson, who she was very proud of and twins Charlotte and Simone Perreault that she saw on a weekly basis. Rose was a member of the Torrington Elk's Lodge for many years. A very sweet lady with a
great sense of humor, laughing and having fun most of the time. She was easily loved and admired by all that came in contact with her.

She is survived by her sisters, Jean Dorion (Raymond), and Irene LaCroix both of Canada. Her children, Bernard Moreau (Maria), Maurice Moreau (Debra), Gerald Moreau, Roger Moreau (Sharon), Cheryl LaCommare of Yorba Linda, CA, Lonnee Johnson, and Bonnie Muckle. Her grandchildren, Derek Johnson, Melanie Perreault (Eric), Josh Moreau, Michael Moreau (Amy), Jayne Battistoni (Ray), Amy Moreau, Richard Lee, Susan Buslewicz (Mark), Wendy Moreau, Deborah Moreau
and Amanda Moreau. Great Grandchildren, Charlotte Perreault Simone Perreault, Jessica Lee, Dalton Moreau, Calvin Moreau, Collin Moreau, Alex Richardone (Abby), Treavor Richardone, Jasmine Daniels, and Devin Daniels. Great Great Grandchildren, August Bivens and Greg Jr. and many nieces, nephews, cousins,  step grandchildren Chris Milanese and Becky and Timothy Bligh.  She was predeceased by a daughter Jacqueline Pieriboni,  sister Rita Dorien,  and brother Prospier Chretien.
