Marian Elizabeth (Sullivan) Rooney

Marian Elizabeth (Sullivan) Rooney passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at the age of 81, after courageously battling dementia for the last several years. She was the oldest of 3 sisters, born in West Hartford, CT. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Thomas Rooney, her parents, Joseph and Mabel (Butler) Sullivan, and her sister, Kathleen Sager. She is survived by her son Thomas Rooney and his wife, Julie Rooney, her grandchildren, Thomas Rooney and Victoria Rooney. In addition, she is also survived by her sister, Geraldine Ethington and her husband, Roy Ethington, as well as her niece, Lisa Elliott and her husband, Benjamin. She took great pride in her occupation as a CNA/Home Health Aide by helping others remain in their homes. She will always be remembered as being very kind to everyone she met and will be deeply missed.

A graveside service will be held in May at St. Mary’s Cemetery in East Hartford, CT.
