Margaret Louise "Peg" (Deming) Janssen passed away peacefully, December 15, 2025, in Sun City Center, Florida, under hospice care. She was born in Torrington, CT, to Mason and Ruth (Bates) Deming. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Robert "Boober" Janssen, daughters, Denise (David) Mariconda, Marjorie (Stuart) Oram, and grandchildren, Zachary Mariconda (Tessa), Allison Oram, Micheal Oram and Tyler Oram. She is also survived by sisters, Sue Prince, Martha Riley and Barbara Whitney (Tim), and numerous nieces, nephew and cousins.
Peg as a teenager, was avid in 4-H showing beef cattle at expositions, while helping on the family farm "Mt Pleasant Farm" on University Drive. She enjoyed crafts and was an accomplished painter, quilter, rug hooker and stained glass expert.
She was employed by the Torrington Company, New Milford VNA and owned Achorn Liquors with her husband in New Milford, CT.
Peg was an over 50-year member of First Congregational Church in Torrington, CT, and a proud member of the Torrington High School Class of 1956, where she and her husband were voted " most promising couple".
A memorial service will be held May 16 2026 at 11 AM at First Congregational Church .
