Louis Gary Bristol, 77, of Torrington, CT, passed away Friday, February 17th, at home. He was the husband of Tatyana Bristol. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister Linda Hoff, his three daughters, Kathleen, Elizabeth, and Margaret, Tatyana’s son Roman, and his seven loving grandchildren, Caroline, Jack, Aidan, Kayla, Patrick, Mary, and Thomas.
Louis was born in Rochester, NY on June 12, 1945, a son of the late Irma and Louis Bristol. He received his bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Geneseo and his Master’s Degree from Bowling Green State University. He was proud to have served his country in the United States Marine Corps, and served in Kuwait during Operation Desert Storm. Besides being a devout fan of the New York Yankees, Lou enjoyed the outdoors and spending time camping and fishing.
After decades working in the financial aid field for Citibank, the State University of New York at Purchase, and the College of New Rochelle, he retired from his role as Director of Financial Aid Services at Northwestern Connecticut Community College. In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his beloved dog, Aeryn.
A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday Feb. 25 at 9:30 AM at Saint Peter Church 107 East Main St, Torrington, CT.
