Kathleen DelMonte, 82, of Torrington, passed away February 18, 2026. She was the wife of 46 years of Jack DelMonte. Born in Torrington November 12, 1943 daughter of the late Francis and Ethel Satanski, she retired as cafeteria manager at Harwinton Consolidated School. After retirement, she was a long time volunteer at Friendly Hands Food Bank. She enjoyed daily visits from her cherished grandchildren, family vacations at Cape Cod and trips to Wildwood, NJ, and playing nickel slots at the casinos. In earlier years, she could be found at the coffee counter at Harwinton Pharmacy, engaging with friends in the town gossip, and more recently at George's Restaurant with staff and friends,. Later in life, she conquered her fear of highway driving, even passing a tandem trailer by herself. She also enjoyed dinner trips with the club-the crazy eights.
She is survived by her sons, Keith and partner Iren Lloyd of East Rochester NY, Wayne and wife Amanda of Harwinton, and Scott of Torrington, grandchildren Emily, Jordan, Jillian, Lindsay, Vincent, and Mitchell. She also leaves sisters Jeanette Dzurnak andHelen Hubert, and brothers in law Dennis and wife Kathy DelMonte and Ronald and Mary DelMonte, as well as several nieces and nephews, In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by sisters Joyce Jacques, Nancy and husband Eddy Hague, and brothers in law William Dzurnak, Coe Hubert, and Raymond DelMonte
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday Feb. 28 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Heart Church in Harwinton. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery. Friends may call Friday at Phalen Funeral Home from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. www.phalenfuneral.com
