Kathleen (Shanahan) Ackley

Kathleen Ackley, 88, of Torrington passed away December 16, 2025 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.  Born in Waterbury, October 16, 1937, daughter of the late Matthew and Helen Goodman Shanahan, she attended Saint Francis School and Torrington High School. She worked for The Torrington Company for 30 years, Broad Street Plant and Thomaston and Watertown Plants as a quality analyst technician. After retirement, she loved to travel and go on cruises, venturing to Alaska, New Orleans, and Ireland, and many places of special interest.

She is survived by her special and loving son, Kenneth Ackley, special niece and nephew Christina Frigo Shanahan and Shawn Shanahan, and great niece Emily Shanahan who was the light of her life. She also leaves several other nieces, nephews and friends.  She was predeceased by her loving daughter Cherie Lee Ackley and sister Irene Stengel'
