Katherine Zubrowski Obituary

Katherine “Ann” (Quinn) Zubrowski, lovingly known to many as Katherine, Ann, Annie, Mom, and Meme, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, under the compassionate care of Valerie Manor. An only child, she was born on February 26, 1944, in Torrington, Connecticut, to her parents Mary (Irwin) and Michael Quinn, who instilled in her the strength, warmth, and spirited nature that defined her life.

Katherine Ann was married to the love of her life, Alexander J. Zubrowski, for 60 beautiful years. Together they built a family rooted in love, laughter, and loyalty.  She was a devoted mother to Michael, Diana, Kathryn, and Tricia, and a loving mother-in-law to Linda DiLorenzo, Corey Rosenfield, and Eric Weinbach. Her greatest joy was being a Meme to her cherished grandchildren—Liam and Quinn Rosenfield, Charles and Jackson Weinbach, and Andrew and Anna Colavecchio—who were truly her universe.  She adored spending time with them and was their biggest fan, proudly attending and cheering on all of their extracurricular activities.

Ann graduated from Litchfield High School.  Her journey through life was defined by resilience, loyalty, and a fun-loving spirit.  Always up for an adventure, she had a remarkable way of turning ordinary moments into joyful memories and made life more fun for everyone around her.  She delighted in life’s experiences, from peaceful days at Cape Cod to lively celebrations in New Orleans.  Ann also had a deep appreciation of the arts, enjoying plays both locally and in NYC, and treasured traveling and vacationing with her family.

Ann was well known throughout Torrington due to her work and volunteerism. She worked at LARC industries, Pennyback Outlet, and Hallmark Cards before retiring to help care for her grandchildren, a role she embraced with boundless love and devotion.  Her radiant smile, infectious laughter, larger than life personality, and feisty spirit left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew her.  That spirit will live on through her children and grandchildren carrying her legacy of strength, love, and family time always.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the nursing staff of Meadowview South for the exceptional care, compassion, love, and support shown to Meme during her time at Havencare at Valarie Manor.

Her legacy lives on through her family, her friends, and the many lives she touched along the way.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
