Karla Judith Gervasini Quinn

Karla J. Quinn, 85, formerly of Torrington and Winsted, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Geer Village Senior Community in Canaan.

Karla was born in Torrington on August 4, 1932, the daughter of the late Romeo C. Gervasini and Clara Givanni Gervasini. She was a 1950 graduate of Torrington High School and attended the Teachers College of Connecticut, now known as Central Connecticut State University.

On July 31, 1954 she married the love of her life, James A. Quinn. They enjoyed life together for 55 years, until Jim’s passing in 2010. Karla was an aide at Vogel School for many years. She enjoyed cooking, hosting family gatherings and entertaining at Highland Lake where she spent her summers.

She is survived by her daughters, Kandace Q. Cesca (L. Peter) of Winsted and Kerry A. Quinn of Tennessee grandchildren, Luc Cesca of San Jose, CA, Jordan and Courtney Cesca both of Winsted; her brother, Rick Gervasini (Sarah) of Denver, CO; nephew, Todd Gervasini (Shannon) of Denver, CO and nieces, Sally Gervasini (Matt Chess) and Romie Martin (Tom) both of San Diego, CA. Community for the wonderful care and support they provided Karla over the past several years.

Karla’s funeral will be held on Friday, July 27 at 10:30 a.m. with a Mass at St. Maron’s Church, 613 Main Street in Torrington. Friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at New St.

Francis Cemetery.
