After retiring from teaching, she worked for McCrory’s as a Regional Trainer and at Ensign-Bickford and Konover Management Realty as a Property Administrator.
Julia made it her life’s passion to laugh and make others laugh. She instilled in her children a love of nature, gardening, cooking and reading. Golf was her favorite pastime, and she and Arnold spent almost every sunny day on the golf course. She was a longtime UCONN Husky Basketball fan and loved rooting for the Red Sox.
