John B Szmalc, 82, of Torrington passed away Wednesday, March 25th, at his home.

John was born in Waterbury, CT on December 6, 1937, a son of the late Daisy (Jacquemin) and Benjamin Szmalc.

He had been employed as a mold maker at Booth's Foundry in Torrington.
He is survived by daughters Debra Roy and husband Robert, and Kathleen Szmalc, and sons Jay Szmalc and wife Lucia and Thomas Szmalc and wife Paula, grandchildren Justin Roy and Ben and Cassy Szmalc and great grandson Jordan Roy. He also leaves a brother Robert Szmalc and wife Carol and nephew David Szmalc and former wife Sandra Szmalc. Services are private. on line memorials www.phalenfuneral.com
