John Charles Hayward, 78, of Torrington passed away August 22, 2025 with his beloved family by his side. He was the husband of 53 years of Solange Hayward. Born in Stamford son of the late William and Rachael Hayward he was a graduate of Stamford High and served at NATO in the Air Force in Eastern Europe. After the service he attended the University of New Haven and graduated with a BA in Marketing and Business. He joined Eastern Bag and Paper Co in sales and retired after 27 years. An avid Yankees fan, he would never miss the Washington Commanders football games and looked forward to spending time with family and friends,
“In addition to his wife, he leaves his children: Elizabeth Junkin, son-in-law William Junkin; Rebecca Hayward; and John Hayward. He is also survived by his sister, Gloria Chamulak; his grandchildren, Amalia, William, and Cullen; his nephew, Dr. Randall Martin, and wife, Kimberly Martin and their children Kenna and Cole; his nieces, Cindy, Rachel, Michelle, and Candace; and his cousin, Barbara Wood.”
Graveside Services will be held Saturday Oct 4 10 AM at Hillside Cemetery in Torrington. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Smilow Cancer Center in Torrington. online memorials www.phalenfuneral.com
