Joan (Albrycht) Ford

Joan Albrycht Ford, 87, of Harwinton, died Friday, May 19 after a short illness. She was the widow of John (Harlan J.) Ford.  Joan was the daughter of the late Charles and Josephine (Wroblewski) Albrycht.  She is pre-decreased by her brother, Charlie and sister-in-law, Mary.  Joan had been a Southington resident for 61 years and lived in Harwinton for the last 26 years.  
She graduated from Southington High School as valedictorian.  Joan graduated from UCONN and received her master’s degree from CCSU.  She taught at Wamogo Regional High School in Litchfield and at Portland High School.  Joan loved teaching and retired after 34 years.  She was a member of the Full Gospel Lighthouse Church in Torrington. She loved praying at the altar, fellowshipping with family and friends, as well as, working in the ministries.  Joan loved the beautiful calmness and joy that the church services brought to her.  She is survived by her nephews and nieces; Chuck Albrycht, Eileen Albrycht, Robin Hadley, David Albrycht, and Marybeth Albrycht. She is pre-deceased by her nephew, Jeffrey.   In addition, she leaves 7 great-nephews, 2 great-nieces, and 12 great-great nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the Full Gospel Lighthouse Church, 624 Torringford West St. in Torrington on Friday, May 26 at 10 AM.  The memorial service celebration will be officiated by Reverend Daniel Bossidy. She will be laid to rest privately beside her husband, John at Winchester Cemetery.
