Jean Maggiorotto Obituary

Jean G. Maggiorotto
August 27, 1933 to June 22, 2024

Jean passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, June the 22nd. She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Vignone; mother, Concetta Marciello Vignone; sisters Mary DelVecchio (Joseph) and Angeline Scoppetto (Merrill); and beloved husband, Frank Charles “Charlie” Maggiorotto.

She is survived by her son, Frank Charles ”Chuck” Maggiorotto, Jr. (Wendy), along with four grandchildren, two granddaughters-in-law, one grandson-in-law and one great- grandson.  Jean grew up in Hartford, moving to Torrington upon marriage and finally residing in Kansas City, Missouri to be closer to her family.  Prior to her retirement, she had a long career with the State of Connecticut’s Labor Department.
Mom/Grandma/Noni had many interests, including her Italian heritage, jazz music (especially Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and Sara Vaughn), the theatre, the outdoors, the beach, walking and Disney character Goofy. She always had a special place in her heart for travel as she made numerous trips domestically and abroad. Above all, she had a deep and continuous love of her family, including dogs Allie, Jimmy and Roxie. She always wanted to make sure her family members were healthy, safe and experiencing life to its fullest, as she did. She was loved by
so many and will be missed.
May the Lord shine his perpetual light on her. There will be a short visitation at 10:00 AM  followed by a memorial service at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, July the 10th in the chapel at the Hillside Cemetery in Torrington (76 Walnut Street).
