Jay Barrante

Jay Barrante was a devoted father, loving husband, cherished brother, and loyal friend. He loved his family fiercely, and that love was felt in everything he did. He leaves behind his wife, Ann, and their three children, Samantha Ann, Hope Elizabeth, and Evan Jay, as well as his oldest son Justin Michael. Jay also loved his furry companion Pepper.
Jay was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Barrante. He is survived by his loving mother, Betty Barrante; his brother, Ron Barrante, and Ron’s wife, Nancy; his sister, Mara Jones, and her husband, Jimmy; and his sister, Diane Ratcliffe, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Jay was the owner of Barrante’s Cleaners and took great pride in his work, approaching it with integrity, dedication, and care. He genuinely enjoyed talking with his customers and often came home with many stories. He was grateful for all the years of support.

Jay’s gentle ways, steady presence, and unwavering character were constants in the lives of those who knew him.

Cancer consumed his body faster than any of us could have imagined. Jay passed peacefully on January 2, 2026, at Yale, surrounded by his loving children and his wife, who never left his side.
We mourn his loss deeply, while also celebrating a life defined by love, strength, and quiet kindness. Jay’s legacy lives on in his family and in the many lives he touched simply by being who he was.
