Gerald H Maule, 92, of Torrington died peacefully April 7, 2021 at his home.  He was the husband of the late Gloria Balaski Maule who died in 1972 and Margaret Merci Lemieux Maule who died in 2018.
Born in Torrington June 27, 1928 son of the late Americo and Martha (Morningwake) Maule,  he served in the US Navy  on the USS Los Angeles.  He was a Patrolman for the Torrington Police Department from 1953 to 1979, being the oldest retiree. He worked as a sheriff for Litchfield County. He had also worked as a machinist at Pheoll of New England,  Pioneer Ball, and Narragansett  Screw Co,  retiring at age 88.

He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed yard work,  country rides,  and a good meal.
He is survived by son Gerald and wife Terry Maule,  daughter Kathleen Fisher,  all of Palm City FL,  and son Thomas and wife Sue Maule of Sandisfield MA,  step daughters Suzette Barker and husband Fred and Annette Lemieux,  2 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  He also leaves a brother David of Burlington and was predeceased by sister Dorothy Maule Wilcox and brothers Almerico and Raymond.  The family extends their thanks to the staff at Workman Apartments for their care and kindness.

He used to come to our workplace and hang out with the boys. What a great sense of humor and fantastic story teller!! Will be missed . Next time I see him, I am taking him out for a beer and burger so I can laugh again!!!!!

Sorry to hear of the passing of your day.  I will always remember how friendly and kind neighbor he was to me and my family when I lived on Riverside Ave..  Will treasure these memories.
