George A Beecher Jr

George Beecher Jr. passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026. He was 82 years old.

George was born on May 19, 1943, in Torrington CT.  George was the son of the late George and Marion (Sica) Beecher.  A lifelong resident of Torrington, he remained a devoted communicant of St. Peter Church (St. John Paul the Great Parish) throughout his life.

George was a distinguished veteran of the United States Army, serving as a Specialist Fourth Class with the 159th Combat Aviation Brigade during the Vietnam War. During his two years of service, he earned the Air Medal for exceptional achievement during sustained aerial flights in support of combat ground forces in the Republic of Vietnam. George participated in over twenty-five aerial missions over hostile territory, demonstrating unwavering devotion to duty, bringing credit to both himself and the military service.

George was previously married to Corrine Beecher of Torrington and is survived by his four children: Cheryl Beecher and her partner Craig, of Bristol; Tracy and her husband, Chip Bolan of Torrington; Scott Beecher of Boston, MA; and Kim Field, of Bristol. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Madison, and grandson, Dylan, of Bristol, CT; his sister, Donna Larson of Torrington; and several nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his sisters, Joann (Beecher) Mancino and Marion (Beecher) Pastizzo; his brother, Ronald Beecher; and his son-in-law, Nate Field.

Funeral services will be held privately.
