Gary Stein Obituary

Gary Ian Stein, 57, of  Torrington, passed away Sunday, April 24th, at UCONN Health Center in Farmington after a longtime battle with heart disease.  He was a loving husband to Molly Dilullo-Stein and a wonderful father to Ethan Dominic and Jaxan Mateo DiLullo Stein.

Gary was born in Hartford, CT on September 11, 1964, a son of the late Marlene (Katz)  and Robert  Stein and was a graduate of OWTS Class of 1982. He also attended Broadcasting School as well as Culinary Arts training.

He would do anything for his sons. He was Ethan's, who has autism, greatest champion. He shared a love of wrestling with Jaxan; they just saw two live shows: AEW and WWE. He enjoyed darts and played in several leagues, and was a fan of the WWE.  He loved the Mets and the Dolphins. He was a huge fan of the band KISS.

Gary loved his pets! He had many fun hours with dogs Moxley and Ruby, cat Arabella and guinea pig, Vivian.

He worked at B/E Aerospace as a Materials Group Leader (1996 - 2001), at MBI as a Senior Associate (2004 - 2008) and at Ward Leonard as an Inventory Control Supervisor (2008 - 2016). He also worked for Federal Direct and Global Steering Systems.  Gary had his own DJ business, Sonic Modulation, for over 30 years and also worked as a chef at DeFranco restaurant in Litchfield for several years.

Gary is also survived by sister Nadene Stein (Tyrone) and brothers Michael, Robert (Thy), and Raymond Stein.  He also leaves stepfather Harold Gouthier and stepsisters Lori Young (Bob), Jody and Leslie Gouthier and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Gary had many, many friends who will miss his humor and his passionate storytelling.
