Francis E Bicio

On May 8, 2026, Francis E. Bicio passed away at the age of 87 in the comforts of his own home with his lilacs in full bloom around him.  Francis was born on August 19, 1938, in Buffalo, New York.  Francis is preceded in death by his wife of nearly 60 years, Beverly A. Bicio (Pawlowski).     

Francis leaves behind a large family, including his seven children, grandchildren, his brother and sisters, and many nieces and nephews. He will also be deeply missed by his beloved cats—his other "kids."

After returning home from his military service in Japan, Francis began working at a local retailer. Who knew that sharing an employee locker with a woman named Beverly and knotting her scarf would lead to nearly 60 years of marriage.  Together, they forged a beautiful life, providing for a family of nine. 

They were a remarkable pair, Francis and Beverly.  Where Beverly’s expertise was in sewing, knitting, canning and baking, Francis’s was in his faith, accounting, fishing and getting the Sunday comics before any of the kids grabbed them.  Francis was a “ham and egger” mechanic, plumber and carpenter with a little dabbling in electrical work (often assisted by an occasional child holding the flashlight). Together, Frank and Bev built a strong foundation for their family based on faith, a strong work ethic, morals, values, and a pretty good sense of humor.  

Over his last few years, Frank’s quiet, behind-the-scenes kindness was graciously revealed.  His relationship with God and his parish, St. Maron’s Church was his guide to reaching out to others and offering them his support, guidance and most importantly his friendship.  From a little boy, Stephen, who impressed him so much at mass, beloved lifetime neighbors, to fellow parishioners who took to his humor and joined in.  

And finally, Frank’s wonderfully unconventional way he kept his seven children close to his heart.  Whether it be donations to St. Jude’s, a tattered piece of paper of birthdates stuffed in his wallet, a mention in his published magazine article for a new fishing partner or an invite for some fresh potato pancakes, pumpkin pie or that delicious cheesecake.
